Confirmed from Railroad Park Foundation's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Great place to visit in Birmingham. There’s tons of walkways and places to run/walk. There’s ponds all around too, so there’s a ton of wildlife. I liked how there were things to do around the part too, so you can grab a coffee and walk around, go to a baseball game or go grab a beer or bite to eat.

Even if you’re from out of town and are just looking for a place to walk around and absorb a little beauty & character of Birmingham, this is a lovely place to spend some free time. Plentiful street parking (yes, parallel, but these are the largest parking spots I’ve ever seen!!! You could fit a truck 😂).

Fun park with lots of sights to take in and things to do! The trail is a nearly perfect .75 so two laps makes a great 1.5 mile loop around the outside. Loved working with the staff when we hosted a race here. You get the beauty of a park with the metro surroundings! Cool setup, if you’re in the area - check it out!

4.5 stars Great park centrally located across from Regions Field. Nothing was open as far as vendors or even restrooms as far as I could tell, but security was walking around. Great place to jog, walk your dog, and generally just hang out. Large playground with plenty of water features and accessible walking paths.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
