Confirmed from Ray Giacomelli Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed park with a dog run, picnic tables and barbecue pits.
What runners say about Ray Giacomelli Park
“The playground is my son's new favorite and my absolute favorite of all was the fact that the restrooms were opened and very clean!”
“There is shade a large picnic area under the sun shade cover but none for the playground which makes it really hot for the kids.”
AWESOME new gem off San Marcos with clean spacious bathrooms. Huge shaded area to sit and BBQ. Grass area to lay blankets or fly a kite and they even have an descent dog park. Small parking lot but they is a walking trail right next to the parking lot where cows are viewed. Water fountain(s) available also.
I love coming to this park. I remember when it was just this park and everything else around it was nonexistent but now it's a full-blown Park and they're building stores and markets and they have a big bathroom and it honestly looks like this is going to be a hot spot!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
