We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Red Line Greenway Metroparks Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Red Line Greenway Metroparks Trail
The best hidden gem in Cleveland, whether you're on foot, on a bike, walking the dog, etc. Because so much of the greenway is in parts of the city that you can't see or access by car, you get a completely different look at the city and it's such a nice change of pace from the bustle.
Very nice place to take a walk or and go and sit in the bench for a while with someone and have a nice talk.
This is the very beginning of the Towpath. Take it South and you can go all the way to Akron and beyond. But be ready to do hills for the first 4 miles or so!

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
