Confirmed from Wendy Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“The park was very clean and the volleyball courts were in excellent shape.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 12 mentions

“Wendy Park has a lot of open green space, scenic views of Lake Erie and the Cleveland Skyline, volleyball courts and trails that go to other areas of Cleveland.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Tucked away on Whiskey Island, it feels like a peaceful retreat just moments from the downtown bustle.”

🐕 dog-walking favorite 3 mentions

“We have brought our dog here several times just to walk the park and let him smell new smells.”

This isn't a great spot to enjoy swimming in Lake Erie or beach combing but it's got appeal for wildlife spotting or sunset watching. There's a great bike/walk trail that is nearby, going in either direction. You can take it up to Edgewater & continue on or you can head to the Flats.

This is a really pretty park along the waterfront in Cleveland. We came on a beautiful summer day. There were a lot of people playing volleyball. I recommend walking to the far side of the park for some beautiful views of the skyline. I was injured at this time, but there's a trail I'd be interested in checking out.

Lovely place to watch the sunset, from your car (the photos attached to this review were taken from the driver's seat of my car) or a walk along the water/dock. Not nearly as packed as Edgewater, especially this time of year. Check it out! (The chance of seeing one of the large barges (boats/ships) is pretty good too!)

Well maintained lakeshore Park. Lots of things to do here. It is accessible by car and by the hike and bike paved trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
