We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Red Reef Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular hiking area with picnic tables and a public restroom, featuring scenic views and a waterfall.
What runners say about Red Reef Trailhead
“The Red Reef Trail in the Red Cliffs area (near Leeds, easy drive from town) is one I keep coming back to because it’s short, scenic, and doesn’t demand too much physically.”
“This is a very beautiful easy hike up until the first nice pool, where there is a cliff side scramble section.”
Easy, beautiful hike. Great for kids of all ages. There was a large cave opening where a few guys were playing some music and they let the kids join in. Would highly recommend to any one in the area, especially if you have younger kids.
it's not too hard, our grandkids did it fine. It's fun to go to the Arch cave and see the petroglyphs. The Anasazi ladder footholds on the side of the waterfalls are very cool also. We took our time and explored it was a nice hike.
I’m a 51-year-old guy living in St. George, a bit overweight and not in the shape I used to be, but I still get out on the trails when I can. The Red Reef Trail in the Red Cliffs area (near Leeds, easy drive from town) is one I keep coming back to because it’s short, scenic, and doesn’t demand too much physically.
Great for kids. Fairly easy hike but plenty of spots for creek play or scrambling. If you wear water shoes you can just wade in the water for the water crossing. There's no rope at one of the waterfalls but it's no problem. My 7 yo went over easily but younger kids probably can't. Also saw two toads.

“Parking at the campground fills up on weekends, so early arrival helps.”
“Elevation gain is light—around 150–200 feet total—and it’s gradual enough that I don’t feel completely spent afterward.”
“There is only one bathroom option and the line gets long and it is not well stocked.”
“Really accessible, short hike, and if you go in the spring there will be water running through it!”
