Confirmed from Reservoir Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This is a beautiful place! I walked the trail around the lake and it is more than 2 miles, more like 2.50 miles according to my tracker. It isn't hard to walk, some concrete, sand and wood planks. There are a few inclines or downhills depending on your starting point, but nothing major.

Absolutely loved this place. This will definitely become one of our regulars. The trail is clean, not too busy. So many people with dogs, love it! My toddler rode majority of the way on his bike and we enjoyed the rest of it walking. I believe it’s about 2.6mi trail.

A great place to walk, run or ride loops. The trail is 2 miles and circles the lake. There are outdoor fitness stations you can stop at to add more to your workout. Also has a bike maintenance station onsite. The lake is open for paddle boarding and kayaks. Be mindful of snakes in the area during the warmer months.

Beautiful lakeside hiking trail. It starts with an amazing tree lined road, literally a canopy of green beauty. Mid-day parking was adequate. There is hiking, biking and on-leash dog walking. People were friendly and courteous, it was a great experience.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Reservoir Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
