Confirmed from Sandhurst Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Loved how clean the park is. Park includes two playgrounds; one play/climbing and one climbing wall. Only baby swings which disappointed my kids but they had a wonderful time with everything else. Restrooms clean, two picnic tables, and large grill. Hiking trails were short but very well kept.

This is a wonderful little neighborhood park in Southern Pines in between three different neighborhoods of Sandhurst South, Sandhurst West, and Sandhurst. There is a quarter of a mile walking loop as well as a terrific field for throwing ball and a few playground items too. It was a beautiful NC day to visit the park.

Quiet, set back off the road small playground with a walking trail and plenty of green space for ball games, cartwheels, freeze tag etc! Small Picnic shelter ,restrooms & water fountains on site. Infant swings, but none for older kids, which is the only down side to this park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Sandhurst Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
