We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Rice Nature Preserve yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Rice Nature Preserve
A remote quiet reserve along a creek. From the carpark, where there is a lone picnic table, you can walk along the bank and see a range of honey eaters (white napped, new hollands), wrens, GST’s and parrots. Worth visiting if you’re a birder.
Quiet trails with some spectacular views of Wilbraham and westward toward the Connecticut River, and toward the eat from Sunrise Peak. Trails ar of moderate difficulty, with some challenging hill climbs and rocky areas.
