Confirmed from Rice Preserve / Sunrise Peak Trailwalk's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Overlook featuring hiking trails, plus views of Vermont and the Holyoke Range.
What runners say about Rice Preserve / Sunrise Peak Trailwalk
“A great place to hike with moderate inclines and beautiful views.”
Good place to get some movement in your day! Don't trust Google Maps to take you there. Go to Highmoor Dr. in Wilbraham. At the end of that street is the start of the Rice Perserve trail. It's in the corner of the dead end. Hope this helps those who have trouble finding it!
Interesting loop trail. Well-marked, some parts are rocky with lots of tree roots and inclines, others are flat. Lots of vines in the forest, which I thought was unique. There's a nice view into the valley from a hillside about halfway through the loop.
Such a great trail ! Immaculate views, clear trail markings and a decent elevation.
It is short, so you could get it done on a weekday after work. Pretty view, no natural water features and if you come in from on end of it you will be walked nh through some thick grass so make sure you have repellant at that point.

“A little rocky/root filled in the beginning, which can be quite muddy after lots of rain or in spring.”
“The trail is flat up to the peak trail itself and then it has a bit of a steep grade, but nothing overly challenging at all.”
“Be aware that there is limited parking in that area.”
