We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Ridgecrest Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Ridgecrest Trailhead
“Beautiful great trail access to both military reserve and camel's back”
Popular place for folks with their dogs--leashed and unleashed. Steeper sections are manageable by bike as we saw three cyclists navigating these paths. Great views! Gun range towards the beginning of one of the trails.
Good trail pretty wide not real Sandy yet but will probably get more so this summer. This time of year there are a myriad of wildflowers. Just beautiful and not too hot.
Pretty good hiking trail for those interested in exploring what it has to offer, especially for new people who wish to see what it has to offer.
Good place to start a foothills hike in the Military Reserve area, with a decent-sized parking lot, vault bathroom and detailed trailhead map.
