Confirmed from Camel’s Back Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Camel’s Back Park is the kind of place that quietly rewires your relationship with a city. I didn’t come here with a plan — just some leftover thoughts, a half-charged phone, and the vague need to breathe differently for a while. That turned out to be enough. What I love most is how effortlessly the park shifts moods.

Best Park in Boise. Bring your pets, kids, family, even your ex!! It's a beautiful place to share with people you really care about, or people you don't! 🤷‍♂️ Trails are perfect for running or biking. Some trails are exclusive to foot traffic but most are pet and bike friendly.

Looking for a good hike? Want the ability to bail at a moment’s notice if weather goes bad? What about sunbathing and a general sunny park vibe where you just want a spot of grass to call your own and relax? It’s family friendly too. Camel’s back has it all and right near downtown!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
