Confirmed from Ridgefield Park Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Ridgefield Park Nature Preserve
“Really well maintained, has benches and seating throughout along the trail, and lots of very cute, educational signs to read throughout as well.”
“That said the wetland areas are picturesque and we enjoyed the short loop.”
“Tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood, it totally feels like stepping into another world.”
Really, really cool, beautiful hidden gem. Tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood, it totally feels like stepping into another world. It's a nice trail that sort of loops (if you walk the last part down a residential street).
Luckily I follow the new and improved RP instagram (@ridgefieldparknj) to learn all about the nature preserve! I never knew it existed until I saw the videos and posts! The volunteers have done an extraordinary job. When I arrived, I was greeted by an adorable fox on the boardwalk.
Hard to believe this treasure is right in Ridgefield Park. An enjoyable place to walk through. If you're lucky enough to go on a guided walk, you'll see and learn things you never knew about. We've seen the red fox and bald eagles during our walks.
1. Walkability – A lovely spot for a short and peaceful walk. Surrounded by flowers and rich vegetation, it's the perfect mini escape into nature. 2. Photography – A hidden gem for nature lovers and photographers. You'll find plenty of beautiful details to capture. 3.
