Confirmed from Ridgeline Trail - Fox Hollow Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“The trails are well maintained and it's just the right mix of steep and flat.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Beautiful- went in the winter and it was a great spot for either walking or trail running.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“This is such a beautiful spot for a nice easy hike.”

This trailhead is one of the main starts/stops of the Ridgeline Trail. One can go to Spencer Butte toward the west or go east to Mt Baldy. The Fox Hollow to Mt Baldy section of the trail happens to be my favorite, with there being a upper and lower trail (no bikes on the south trail). Well maintained!

Such a beautiful hike. The trails are well maintained and it's just the right mix of steep and flat. I would definitely recommend this for a novice hiker, or a family trip.

If you're looking for a short east hike then i definitely recommend this place. The kids had lots of fun

★★★★★ — Jacqueline , Jun 2021

This hike is righteous any time of year. It has numerous trailheads with about three levels of difficulty, none of which are THAT difficult, but the short trailhead does have a small scramble. My first time was in winter after an ice storm a cpl January's ago.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
