Confirmed from River Walk's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly park featuring a playground, paved trails for walking, a boat ramp, and river views.
What runners say about River Walk
“I used to walk Southward along this trail and loved how it’s paved and clean and has art on display and a nice playground.”
The Ocmulgee Heritage Trail (Riverwalk) is a 13-mile linear park system developed through a public-private partnership between NewTown Macon and Macon-Bibb County. Envisioned in 1996 to revitalize downtown by reconnecting it to the Ocmulgee River, the trail now links several major landmarks and 12,000 years of history.
Nice place to take a walk, they have a boat ramp, and it's close to several fast food restaurants incase you want something before or after. Also convenient to historic downtown Macon. Pet friendly.
I used to walk Southward along this trail and loved how it’s paved and clean and has art on display and a nice playground. The trail leads to another larger park. However, lately do to construction and flooding, it’s only a playground and mud.
Ocomulgee Heritage trail, Its a nice walk anytime of year. The river Is low now. Fishing down river may be better. The river Is higher now. However the west trail is blocked due to construction. The East side is open. I walked today it's nice.
