Confirmed from Riverfront Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Scenic

Riverfront park with a playground and a picnic area, plus trails and river views.

What runners say about Riverfront Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (366 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“Clean maintained park great for river views and watching the boats and barges going up and down the river.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“Looking at the beautiful murals and going across the Riverfront Park Bridge is awesome.”

Portsmouth is nestled just across the mighty Ohio river from Kentucky. Rolling mountains and flat bottoms make this a scenic wonder. There are also plenty of activities for the outdoors type or visit a local pub for a fresh mountain brew.

First time visiting for work. Heard it's run down and ghetto. Wasn't my impression. Older folk just doing their thing. Not the fanciest but I felt more comfortable there than in Columbus. The two rivers merging was nice to see and the murals just dont stop. So big and detailed. Definitely worth seeing if.

Nice spacey park with plenty to offer for everyone. There are miles of trails, an enclosed and fun playground area, shelter buildings for large gathering, volleyball, basketball, and baseball / softball fields. The area is well maintained and is available at all times of the year free of charge.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
