Confirmed from Scioto Brush Creek State Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Scioto Brush Creek State Nature Preserve
“It's a truly beautiful sight it has a trail you can walk and see the wildlife and soak in the beauty of this precious waterway”
“A very quiet peaceful hike right along the river, not to difficult.”
Beautiful emerald color of Scioto Brush Creek is the main feature of this nature preserve. There is a 1.5 mile trail alongside the creek that has scenic views. The parking area can accommodate 5-6 vehicles and there is a kayak/canoe launch area. There are no other amenities.
Put in here for a kayak trip to 104 (about 7 mile float). You have to walk a few hundred yards to get decent access to the creek. The creek is clean and full of smallies. There is a place about 1/10 mile you may have to port. Too rocky to float. Getting out, however, is quite a chore. The bridge access at 104 is steep.
Brush Creek is a small nature preserve but a beautiful one. The emerald waters of Brush Creek flow beside it, and this really makes the hike! The easy, mostly flat trail is a mile or a little over with lots of nice spring wildflowers.
