Confirmed from Riverview Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

The trail is well kept by park management. We have a bench dedicated to my mother-in-law, who is now deceased. It's in a beautiful spot. I love to walk and run this trail which connects the park to downtown. I also trained for the WorldVision half marathon here.

Very nice trail along the river. As soon as you walk away from town, you hear the birds singing and not so much of the hustle downtown Flushing. Beautiful place to walk my dogs and some spots along the trail to get a drink. It's definitely worth the visit.

I walk this trail frequently. It's clean and safe. The 5k route takes you on sidewalks through town too. Bathrooms are available in the park area and a drinking fountain too. Part of the trail follows the Flint River. It's a popular place to walk dogs too.

Very relaxing, paved, easy to walk trail. And I was completely taken aback by the kindness of every single person I passed. This must be one of the friendliest cities in the United States. All races, all ages, and yet everyone was smiling at each other, friendly, and in some cases helpful.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
