Confirmed from Robert C. Porter Family Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Walking trails, ponds & a kids' playground in a natural setting with a restored prairie area.
What runners say about Robert C. Porter Family Park
“It has a portapotty that is always well kept, which is a plus!”
“A nice huge park near the dog park, with a lot of biking and walking paths, and beautiful lakes to fish in or look at.”
“There are winding trails, a lovely pond, cool a nature-inspired playground, and a shady spot to rest.”
Definitely one of the nicest parks in C-U. About 4 swings, couple slides, etc. But what makes this Park great for kids are the climbing features and the natural beauty and natural playscape. And if you don't have kids, or kids get tired playing, there are paths for walking, Bridges over a pond, and plenty to explore.
A gorgeous prairie restoration with very nice, paved walking trails. The singing birds and plethora of bumblebees and butterflies are a testament to how important parks that incorporate native habitat are to wildlife. There's also a pond with a footbridge and a dock. The trails are handicap accessible.
A nice huge park near the dog park, with a lot of biking and walking paths, and beautiful lakes to fish in or look at. There are also looking put spots, and at the center there is play equipment with cool structures and slides, plus a bike rack, a bridge, benches, grassy spaces, etc.
Great park with several paved loops, including one around a pond with a bridge. Beautiful trees. A fishing dock and comfortable benches to sit and listen to the peaceful sound of the wind through leaves and watch sun sparkling on water. The play areas look like they'd be much fun for little ones.
