Confirmed from Rowlett Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“The most beautiful park I have ever been to!”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“Miles of paved trails, lots of playgrounds, beautiful live oak trees with lots of shade, lakes, tons of pavilions, dog park.”

This is by far my favorite park in North Tampa. The walking trail is nice and has elevation points. There's a good change that you'll see Manatees and / or alligators in the river. This park has lots of pavilions and 2 playgrounds. There's also a dog park. I highly recommend this park.

Great spot for a planned event. You can reserve a covered spot for your party for community event. Restrooms are available and the walking trails are well kept. There's also a dog park and playground.

This is my favorite park around Tampa! The walking paths are well maintained and it’s a great spot to walk loops! There’s a really nice dog park, great pickleball and tennis courts, and they even have a rink for skating of some sort (not ice obvi)!

This park is so peaceful, tranquil and well maintained. I enjoy going to this park for my walks.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 12 mentions

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
