Confirmed from Royal Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

- This lake is surrounded by residential homes, including single-family houses and townhouses. -Multiple trail access points can be found around the lake. - Some areas feature large playgrounds, basketball courts, baseball fields, a soccer goal, and 3-4 picnic tables.

This is my favorite neighborhood nature trail. The trail that loops around the lake is just shy of 2-miles (1.9-miles). The trail for the most part is hard packed gravel and includes some hills /steps. It can get a little muddy but it includes lots of shade. There is some exercise equipment along the trail.

Cute 1.5 mile loop, perfect for runners and casual walkers alike. It crosses through a really nice playground, basketball court, and soccer field too if you are into that. There is ample parking on at least two different spots of the trail.

20230723 One of my favorite places to walk my pups. This is a nice trail around the lake. It's about 2 miles from where I park, around the lake, and back to my car. Most of the trail is gravel and dirt with small section where the baseball field and playground are is paved.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
