Confirmed from Salem Creek Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Salem Creek Greenway
“A great option for biking/walking/running in Winston-Salem.”
It's attached to the children dinosaur park. Has baseball field and open gym. A dog park, nice picnic area. A walking trail is attached to it. It's green, historic and nice walk way. Really enjoyed it. You cross a road and walk till salem lake walking trail.
Amazing how you can walk 4 miles straight through winston salem and for the most part see no cars. Whoever funded this project should get many promotions. You’ll see a lot of bikers, maybe some animals on a good day. Salem creek creates some great texture snd sound as you walk.
Love the Greenway for walking the dogs and the little boy! Go go, go go go go
6-13-22 This is a completely paved trail that runs from the trailhead at the Hamrick's parking lot off Peter's Creek to Salem Lake Trail. Strava put this at 4.8 miles one way. Plenty of parking in the Hamrick's lot. I walked the entire length starting from the trailhead to Salem Lake and then returned to the trailhead.
Trail conditions & character
“The greenway is completely paved, wide enough for two-way traffic, mostly flat laterally, with occasional hills.”
