We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Salem NH Rail Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Blacktop paved the entire length. Very enjoyable and easy ride. Some historic points of interest along the way. The old station is now a museum about the old Railroad line.
This used to be a great ATV trail back in the day. Have not been back since 1996. A lot has changed.
This is such a peaceful and beautiful place to walk, run, skate or pedal your bicycle!
I really do wish they would continue it from the ice Arena in Manchester all the way straight through to Salem, New Hampshire, but other than that, it’s really pretty run
