Confirmed from Salesian Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Salesian Park
“Engaged dog park plenty of benches and clean restrooms.”
“It is a beautiful park with a variety of scenery- pond with tall grass, open lawn, and more wooded lawn.”
“The library is pretty active during library hours, so that adds a sense of security versus if it were quiet.”
As a NYC transplant to this area, I think some of the reviews are harsh. This is a great park. I've been going to it for a year now and never thought it was dirty or unkept. It is a beautiful park with a variety of scenery- pond with tall grass, open lawn, and more wooded lawn. The dog park seems popular.
I moved here last year and Salesian has become my absolute favorite place to disappear to. It's such a quiet, lovely park, with beautiful paths to wander and explore. There's a beautiful pond, that I usually find a few friendly ducks or geese, hanging around. And there's also a soccer field and nice dog park.
My new favorite dog park, right in Goshen! Turn in where the Masonic picnic area is and keep going to the old school. Fence is at least 5 ft, great gates, grassy hills for dogs to run about, trick jump, tunnel, platform, benches and picnic tables. Bring your own bags and water/water dishes.
Ground's are beautiful. However there is one delapated building on sight. If you can get past that, there is a walking trail around a small pond with old growth forest. You're able to access property near the construction of the new town library. Entrance is at the Masonic church driveway.
