Confirmed from San Bernardino Peak Trail 1W07's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about San Bernardino Peak Trail 1W07

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (66 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“It follows the San Bernardino Crest the whole way, which makes the views plentiful and beautiful, and the trail itself is well-maintained and easy to get to.”

This is an excellent trail. You should not try to summit if you are a novice hiker. The peak is eight miles with a4700foot elevation gain from the trail head. A moderately good hiker will make the summit in 4-5 hours. It can get cold up here even in summer so make sure to bring col weather gear and plenty of water.

San Bernardino Peak it's a 16+ mile trail out back and over 4500 ft elevation gain definitely a good workout for those looking to climb Mt Whitney it's perfect for adjusting to the elevation around 10649 ft, but its reward comes with the breathtaking views, you get It especially in the flat stone bench, like 15 min…

This is a great hike, it does have amazing views, I have hike it twice and I have not made it to the summit, there was a lot of snow, I will try again next Sunday, paso a paso.

★★★★★ — Marco , Apr 2025

This trail is 16 miles round-trip with 4650 feets gain, it's quite tough, but the reward is stunning view, I really enjoyed this hike.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
