Confirmed from Sandia Peak Tramway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
2.7-mi aerial tram ride with Albuquerque & mountain views to a peak with trails, skiing & dining.
What runners say about Sandia Peak Tramway
“Great views of deep canyons and rock formations you'd never get to see in the Sandias otherwise, but you have to go during the day to get the most out of it.”
Don't miss this experience! The Sandia crest trail including the Kiwanis Cabin trail has 100’s of spots to stop, relax, and take in the amazing view of Albuquerque and surrounding valley.
Awesome birthday experience! It was the best surprise ever. We loved it, was snow everywhere February 6th. When you arrive there you can, take pictures, go upstairs, then you have a gift shop and place to eat.
Sandia Peak Tramway is an unforgettable experience and easily one of the highlights of Albuquerque. The ride itself is thrilling, offering breathtaking panoramic views as you glide from the desert floor up to the Sandia Mountains.
One of the best experiences in Albuquerque. If you are visiting or live here and have not gone before, this is a must do. It's a 15 min ride up and just from halfway you get a beautiful view. At the top there is a beautiful restaurant and trails to different points on the sandia ridge.

“At night, the city lights below sparkle like a million jewels.”
“The hike to the Kiwanis cabin from the tram is not difficult and I recommend continuing and completing the entire crest trail along the rim to the upper parking lot.”
