Confirmed from Sands Point Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Grand 216-acre estate around Great Gatsby era mansion houses with woods, lawns & landscaped gardens.
What runners say about Sands Point Preserve
“You get a little bit of everything here: scenic hiking trails, open fields, a dog park for your pup to run around, and access to the beach with beautiful views of the ocean.”
“The highlight for me was the architecture, stunning historic buildings that look like castles, making the whole place feel peaceful and almost magical.”
“Dog friendly, but make sure to follow leash laws.”
One of my family’s favorite parks. Such a beautiful scenery. They even have a playground on the grounds, access to the beach, hiking, and a cute lake. Great location for taking professional photos as well! So many nice spots. And so many memories made here.
Beautiful park, well worth the price of admission. I love birdwatching here. A fantastic place to bring kids for an afternoon hike. They have a playground, a small beach (no swimming! It’s a nature preserve) and a 19th century mansion with an imitation castle-gatehouse.
I've visited this place several times, and it's a place I want to come again. It's so nice to take a walk. It's quiet and healing. The sound of birds, the sound of waves, the sound of water flowing. It's good for walking with your pet dog. It's also good to take a walk with children.
Beautiful scenic preserve . We visited and there was a dog costuming event taking place, and we didn't feel welcomed by the other visitors, but still managed to enjoy the views and scenery. We had hoped to go on one of the tours they offer, but it had been canceled that day.

“We paid $15 to get in, there's plenty of parking, but not much to do other than walk around and observe nature.”
