Confirmed from Saw Mill Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Quaint park stocking trout and featuring trails and river access.
What runners say about Saw Mill Park
“Great place for kids To explore , dogs who enjoy water, trail parallels beautiful creek.”
“This is a quiet trail located in radnor township.”
The land owners stocked the waters trout so that you can fish, if you want. They created plenty of path and has interesting "islands" and fallen trees.
This is a quiet trail located in radnor township. Not as heavily visited and shorter then some others. Provides a wonderful stroll along Darby creek and into some forested areas. Peaceful. This park is common with fisherman looking to catch some trout. I saw easily the largest rainbow trout ever caught.
Pros- Nice flat trail. Often busy with fishermen. Connects well to Skunk Hollow Park/The Willows. Both deer and dogs are often found in the water. Cons - Unclear if the last parts of the trail is the SMP trail or someone's back yard. I don't love the historic narrow bridge while driving here.
Great place to hike with dogs and kids and play in the creek. Only 4 stars because it's endlessly frustrating at the amount of people that have their dogs off leash.
Trail conditions & character
“Don't even think of going if you fear dogs running free, as many owners neither leash nor pick up after dogs.”
