Confirmed from Scenic Loop Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Scenic Loop Trailhead
“Enjoy the beautiful walk to squires castle and meet cool people along the way.”
A really nice and well kept place for a walk or run! There are paved and unpaved paths!
What a beautiful trail! It connects to the squire castle trails and the strawberry pond trail. It was a frozen on our visit and many trees down from the tornados and high winds over the last few months. The entrance has a parking right across the street with a big pond you can walk around.
The Scenic Loop Trail is a fantastic medium trail. This trail will connect you to two other trails. The Squire Castle Trails and the Strawberry Pond Trail. There's also plenty of other connecting trails. One such trail is the Bridle Trail (NC2). So many different and awesome trails in the area.
Hiked the Scenic Loop trail today from the Strawberry Picnic Area parking. Gorgeous trail! We had a ton of rain last night, and the trail seems to be a clay base, so it was very slippery, but it was worth the extra caution and mud. Not a trail for anyone who struggles with steep hills or uneven footing.
