Confirmed from Schaefer Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Neighborhood park featuring a playground and a pavilion with a grill.
What runners say about Schaefer Park
“A small, nice, clean park with restrooms, parking lot, playground, walking path, pavilion.”
We enjoyed walking the paved path around Schafer park. We especially enjoyed the prairie portion with a variety of blooming native prairie flowers which were visited by a variety of butterflies and birds eating the seeds of others including a flock of gold finches.
Nice little park hidden away inside a neighborhood, which keeps the crowds down. They have a nice relatively small walking path and a nice open common ground, but otherwise this is just a children's park. There is one medium sized pavilion (20-30 people tops) with a grill, and a men's and women's restroom.
Great place to run around with the kids or walk the dog. There is a track to walk around with a big field in the middle. There's also a playground for smaller kids and a covered Pavilion with picnic benches under it that you can reserve. There's bathrooms here and they are very clean.
Such a great park for toddlers and little kids! The playground is updated from some of the older photos. It's very nice and the perfect size for small children. Also has a nice trail for strollers or walking. Would love to come back.
