Confirmed from Schutte Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Recreational retreat offering wooded trails, softball fields, a playground & a picnic pavilion.
What runners say about Schutte Park
“They had a snack at pavilion after, very clean area.”
“My daughters & I love the walking trails, we went when there wasn't any games on, so it was nice and peaceful.”
BE CAREFUL BACK BY THE POND BEHIND THE DOG PARK-- There is an active hornets nest I think it's called, it's huge, right down by edge of water, hanging from a tree it's a little harder to see until you get right up on it!
Great Park very quiet kids were able to run around and play and enjoy themselves without having to bump into 3 million children it was nice to be able to enjoy the weather and watch the kids have lots of fun we were able to walk through the trails in the back without it being all wet really great small park for when…
Great place to take your dogs and someone you care about or just walk alone
The dog park at Schutte is a good park to let dogs run and play. It includes some 'trials' equipment, a ball run (separate from the play area) and large spaces for large dogs and for small dogs. A poop station is provided (it was full, though).
Trail conditions & character
“There is a skate park, dog park, trail, baseball field, a couple of pavilions with electric access and of course apparatus for kids to play on.”
“Very little traffic, plenty of parking, nice-looking playground area.”
“There's a giant field to play with the kids, a nice playground and pavilion, and maturing shade trees where you can sit for hours.”
“My daughters & I love the walking trails, we went when there wasn't any games on, so it was nice and peaceful.”
Plan your run at Schutte Park
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
