Confirmed from Scott Woods Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Scott Woods Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (310 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Beautiful park with lots of different trails and scenery, plus it's a great place to see wildlife.”

Scott woods is a great place to walk, bike and be outside. I bring my kids here and we wander around, climb trees, enjoy the fresh air and sunshine and have a good time. It's quiet and beautiful and you can see deer and geese and ducks.

★★★★★ — Sarah , Mar 2021

This was a nice paved trail I saw lots of people on bikes and roller blades. Plenty of space on the trail to share the path. Lots of trees down which made it even more beautiful 🥰

★★★★☆ — Alyssa , Sep 2022

Easy paved trails. In the fall, there are lots of interesting mushrooms near the forest grounds to be found.

★★★★★ — Sylvia , Oct 2022

This park is a family hit, with trails to hawk island and a quiet little playground and parking lot. Thru the woods not only is pretty and full of nature but the walking path is great for families. The downside is some people ride their bikes to fast so stay walking on the right hand side and watch the small children.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
