Confirmed from Sequoia Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I found it to be a tranquil park. It's located on the top of hill in Monterrey Park. They have two tennis courts, a baseball field, and plenty of space to run for a park. What I really appreciated was the anonymity. I'll be back.

Cute park located in the hills of Monterey Park. At top of park there is a Japanese inspired space, however it is small. There is a picnic table in a shaded area. Has a baseball field in the middle of the park. Phone reception may be spotty. Overall nice place to walk around and has hills to get cardio in

Beautiful view good for kids to explore walk I would love to go again.

★★★★☆ — Stephanie , Oct 2025

Came here for pickleball, tennis court lights randomly turn on at 10:20pm every night. Perfect to avoid the pickle crowd. Nice jungle gym for younger visitors. Nice park for a walk, the hills will have you sweating in no time. Nice gazebo on the north end.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
