We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Sewalls Falls Multi-Use Recreation Area yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Sewalls Falls Multi-Use Recreation Area
“What a beautiful place, incredible scenery, good walking trails definitely recommend it.”
“Enjoyed this nice, beautiful, peaceful walk with my pup today.”
“The people, with dogs that I ran into to were friendly.”
It seems like there are always parking spots here and so much to do! Miles of trails to walk or bike, both up stream or down. The river runs fast and rocky over much of the old bed, but kayaks and canoes still make the run. There are a few sandy beaches, if you know where to look (that's on Google Maps, if you don't).
Very clean and spacious, I was very surprised to find a place in the middle of such a largely populated area that feels so out in the middle of nowhere. Very calming walk in the woods, along side of the Merrimack River, and right in between 3 Very busy communities.
Met a wonderful monthly hiking group at the Sewalls falls bridge parking area to hike up to the two historical spots of the old Dam and generator Mill. There are no marked trails with blazers or signage.
Great walking path beside the river. There is a small beach at the end of the path. A few other river access points along the way as well. Mainly flat and hard packed trail.
