Confirmed from Shearer Hills/Ridgeview Walking Trail - Olmos Basin Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This simple spot in Olmos Basin Park features a paved walking trail with fitness stations.
What runners say about Shearer Hills/Ridgeview Walking Trail - Olmos Basin Park
“Nice, clean, and open trail to run or walk with pets.”
“The concrete-paved path ain't the easiest on the knees if you're a runner but for walking you will probably appreciate the width and beautiful surroundings.”
“This park is only missing more shaded spots.”
“We like to get quick meditation sessions in outdoors when we can and this place provided a quiet space to do so.”
“Great spot to stop and stretch, walk the dog or toss around an LED Frisbee for quick night time energy recharge.”
One of my favorite places to go walk. Safe from around 6 am until the lights go out around 10:45pm. There are stations with exercise equipment every 1/8th mile around the 1/2 mile track.
Great walking trail and exercising equipment. It is also pet friendly and great for biking riding, jogging, and running. There are also exercising apparatus.
My daughter and I went to this beautiful walking trail in central San Antonio, Texas. It was early evening. The trail is 1/2 mile long. We went around 4 times and enjoyed it immensely. The trail had benches along the way. It also had exercise equipment in 3 places along the trail. There were people walking their dogs.
Love this peaceful park, and the faces get familiar after just a few visits. Haven't seen any creepy people either, which is nice and makes me feel safe. Watch out for skunks and snakes though. I found a coral snake this AM right off the path!
