Confirmed from Judson Nature Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Walking paths in a wooded green space, along with a ranger house.
What runners say about Judson Nature Trails
“Trails are well kept and the scenery was beautiful!”
“There are some 200-250 year old trees on the trails that are beautiful to behold.”
Nice old growth nature trails. The trails are maintained but the vegetation and trees are natural. Many big old trees. Some of the trails run along Olmos Creek. Most of the trails are dirt trails and may get muddy after rains so wear appropriate hiking shoes. Very much enjoyed taking a walk here.
I'm from Indiana and I regularly miss real trees living here in San Antonio. This is my favorite place to go in town because of the trees. I also like all of the trails, the quiet, and exploring all the side/unofficial trails.
It was very nice and pleasant. Trails are well kept and the scenery was beautiful!
Nice little trail to come and unwind. There are some 200-250 year old trees on the trails that are beautiful to behold. The main trail where the ranger station is located is made of asphalt, but the further you get from them the muddier they get (when it rains). Other than that, the trails are well maintained.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
