🌿 Sheldon Marsh Nature Preserve – A Hidden Gem on the Shores of Lake Erie ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Huron, OH Peaceful. Scenic. Always worth the walk. Sheldon Marsh is one of those rare places that hits every single time—no matter the season, weather, or reason for going.
Nice, easy, short, and paved out-and-back trail. There were a few small dirt trails that broke off from the paved trail and back to the paved trail. If you are allergic to poison ivy, would highly recommend avoiding most of this trail. Pretty much anywhere I looked along the edge of the trail, there was poison ivy.
We love coming here often for nature walks with the kids and family. Have a beach where the kids enjoy going on and skipping rocks, lots of different birds and animals you encounter that are fun to see. We even had deer walk across the path in front of us.
Not a bad place to waist time walking through a swamp and keep you from doing constructive useful activities. Good place to find other people doing the same thing you're doing like walking around becoming one with the mosquitoes. Great photo opportunities of things thousands of people have already taken pictures of. 😉
