Confirmed from Shellabarger Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a playground, picnic shelter, walking path, basketball court, and soccer field.
What runners say about Shellabarger Park
“Love the park and the shelter very clean ,no bad things happen there ,or people causing trouble.”
“Beautiful and if u are lucky u get to see horses”
“Its quiet usually and there is a shelter with a grill.”
The park was beautiful . I was there for a Birthday Party , the shelter was great did not have any trouble with yellow jackets. The is electric for the music. I had a good time but for one thing . The port a potty was so far away ,I am handicap a can walk the far . Just wish it could have been a bit closer.
Great park with nice long walking path around the perimeter. Decent playground for kids as well as a sand volleyball court! There are also basketball courts and soccer fields. They have been improving the soccer fields over the past year or so which is nice.
Not a bad park! I liked the paved walking loop, and the fact that the sign told you how long the path was. The walking path could be slightly wider. But includes a playground and swings, a soccer field, and basketball court for full family fun!!
Nice little park to walk your dog, let the kiddos play, picnic area and volleyball on the far end of park. First time taking my dog for a quick walk and she enjoyed it so I'm sure we will go back. It was peaceful! The only issue is there seems to be alot of potholes entering into parking lot that need fixin.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
