Confirmed from Shelton View Forest - 7th Ave. W. Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Trails through a well-maintained forest in a quiet, neighborhood spot, featuring rope swings and old cars.
What runners say about Shelton View Forest - 7th Ave. W. Trailhead
“I hope the housing developer won't take over this beautiful park and nature.”
Highly recommend wearing hiking boots as there's lots of hills to go up and down. Finding the cars was worth getting lost!
I grew up in Redmond and have really missed having dense woods easily accessible, until yesterday I’ve felt the need to drive at least 30 minutes out to get that feeling again living on the border of Lynnwood/Bothell now.
Great for kids, but be warned! Hilly trails meander through this picturesque little forest. The kids will love exploring three old abandoned cars, that are totally fascinating! That being said, this trail is VERY hilly.
This is an awesome local hike. There's quite a few large hills to get a good workout. Some of the trails are used for mountain bikes and there's a rope swing in the center somewhere, use at your own risk. You're never too far from going home so it's terrific for little ones.
Trail conditions & character
“Some sections can be pretty steep, so if you aren't wearing good footwear, then you should be careful.”
“Great large park with lots of trails through the trees and ferns around Shelton View Elementary.”
“It has over three miles of trails through a thickly wooded forrest.”
“I’ve seen the save Shelton forest sign from the road and decided to give the trail a try with my dog and man did it turn out to be so much more than I thought it would!”
