Confirmed from Shore Pkwy Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park offering opportunities for jogging, walking, and enjoying the sunset.
What runners say about Shore Pkwy Park
“Very good path for walking and running/jogging along the shore and a beautiful view of Verrazano bridge”
“not too much noise very quiet beautiful all year around .”
When I walk out of my house near Rockaway Parkway I am confronted with cars parked on the sidewalk, drivers ignoring stop signs and general mayhem. Then I walk 1/2 mile to the Belt Parkway bike path and I am transported to another dimension. Where rabbits cross my path. And people say ‘Good Morning.
Go through this park several mornings at the same time and you bump into familiar faces. People from all ethnic groups jogging, exercising, walking their dog, cycling... I like the bike trail. The park is well lit, but beyond the park, the bike trail goes too dark to be enjoyable at night.
Very nice and scenic route. Great to take a walk or ride your bike by the water. Could use some lighting at night, otherwise a great place to do and relax or do some activities.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
