I have hiked the Superior Hiking Trail in this area and loved it! A total of 5.74 miles! Great Duluth, Minnesota views from areas along the trail! Very pretty!!
Great hike whichever way you go from Haines Road. More parking is needed with all the bike trails now, lot is full on nice days and you have to pull up onto the sidewalk. The hikes and trail access are still too nice to give four stars so it gets five. But hope the parking can be increased a little.
There are plenty of hiking and biking trails. This is a good starting point leading into the bike trails. You can do loops or point to point. There are plenty of green trails, but please note that the more difficult trails are some of the most technical in Duluth. It's a lot of fun.
A very convenient place to park for hiking or mountain biking the local trails. If there's a complaint, the parking lot is a bit small considering the numbers of people who access trails here. You might have park creatively if there is good weather.
