Confirmed from SIUE Cross-Country Course's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I loved my time running cross country at SIUE, and I miss this beautiful cross county course now that I am no longer in the area. The rolling hills made for excellent workouts, and I have some terrific memories from the practices and races here.

It's a great place to go for a long walk among nature and few other people. It's a nice uncrowded place to walk your dog, take a run or ride your bike off path. There are wide grassy trails and dirt paths through the beautiful wooded areas.

★★★★★ — Laura , May 2018

This coarse is beautiful. Tree lined paths and beautiful scenery to guide the way . The SIUE campus is stunning! Wildlife fills the area and is protected so there are not a lot of buildings or housing to scar the scenic views. This place is great for runners walkers and cyclists. A great place to spend the afternoon.

Great course! Wooded trail with some shade. Several hills and multiple chances to see the runners throughout the race. Nice open area but little shade in the holding/staging so being a canopy and cooler with cold drinks.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
