Confirmed from Slate Run Metro Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Picnic-friendly farm presenting life on an 1800s homestead (with an adjacent park featuring playgrounds).

“Beautiful walking areas, and a chance for kids to see story book farm and farm animals in real life!”

I didn't have time to visit the farm part of Slate Run Metro Park. I did make it to the lake and take the trail to the wetlands. This is another great metro park. It has a large lake for fishing, well maintained trails that go through wetlands, wooded areas and a ravine, a large meadow and a covered bridge.

Absolutely gorgeous park. We did the Kokomo Wetlands Trail, which is stunning. Very well mowed and marked grass and boardwalk trail. Parking lot is paved with plenty of spaces. There is a picnic shelter area. A couple outlooks right near the parking lot looking over ponds. The trail itself offers lots of water views.

This place is an amazing place for all ages. The park is kept very clean and everything is in working order. The play grounds are great for the kids and the shelter houses are great for get to gethers. The trails are a great getaway from the busy world around you and to top it off you must check out the working farm.

This park is absolutely beautiful. This is the first park I’ve ever been to that has an historic farm on it. I love walking around the farm seeing all the animals with my kids. This park is huge and there’s so much exploring you can do here. You’ll definitely have to come more than once to explore the whole park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
