Peaceful boardwalk experience — worth the trip! The South Trailhead for The Boardwalk at Lake Weatherford was pretty easy to find, and the walk itself was very easy — no hills or stairs, just a smooth, level path. Some areas were a little uneven, but overall it was a pleasant stroll.
Very nice place to walk, jog, birdwatch, fish, or just chill, and also has a very cool lego chalk walkways and paths around the ponds. other than the lego-like walkaways, it also has a very nice view of a lake with benches and open ground for picnic, and is just a perfect place to bring pets and children.
My wife and I drive by this everytime we mountain bike and didn't realize this is here. We didn't come at the best time of the year but it was still worth a visit. Besides, the boardwalk, there isn't a whole lot of walking, but there's definitely a lot to visit for 45 minutes an hour.
This is touted as the longest floating bridge in the US. We came out on March and it had a nice chill in the area so I decided to meet my 5k obligation here. The boardwalk is pretty cool and there are periodically placed benches
