Confirmed from Stedman's Landing's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 7 mentions

“Steadman’s Landing is one of those quiet spots that feels like a hidden escape along the Eastern Shore.”

Stedmans Landing in Montrose is absolutely beautiful. Looking for a quiet afternoon walk and see the sun set this is it. Limited parking .

★★★★★ — Pat , Feb 2023

Recently renovated, with a new boardwalk and drainage. I would avoid swimming here due to bacteria - water quality is not tested here, and be careful letting dogs roam free due to gators in the bay. Great place to watch the sunset or have a picnic.

★★★★☆ — Ryan , Jun 2019

I found this spot while looking for nearby trails and it turned out to be such a hidden gem! The walk is easy but packed with scenery — you’re right by the bay, surrounded by tall trees, and constantly spotting seabirds along the way. It feels like stumbling onto a secret escape where nature really takes over.

★★★★★ — Leonna , Sep 2025

Nice walk on a wide and well built wooden elevated deck all the way to the bay. Today the tide was up and the water was up past the steps, but when the tide and wind cooperate you can often get to walk along the shore.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 14 mentions

“Pro tip: Visit during heavy rain and you'll see the ravine fill-up with the sound and sights of waterfalls.”
