Confirmed from Stinchcomb Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Stinchcomb Park
“It's beautiful and very nice for a short or a long hike.”
“Quiet, peaceful, and plenty of mosquitos.”
The trail/road is pretty nice, though a bit bumpy for cycling. The brush is very thick with poison oak, thorns, etc. The trails are tempting, but unless in the winter, I recommend staying on the main path/road. Another downside is that there’s not much to see-just trees and a path.
Trails could use a little more upkeep, but to have this so close to us on the city is a luxury. Plenty of poison ivy, so make sure if you're allergic, wear some pants. Very easy to spend hours out here wandering around.
Great hiking area, watch out for snakes. If you go deep enough into the woods you will see transient living quarters. Safe enough area to enjoy.
Coyotes, snakes on the trail. Really cool. Walking the old river Rd will take you out to basically the Wilshire exit of the Turnpike.
Trail conditions & character
“Great place where you can find several walking trails with a nice view of the river.”
“Good place to take the dog and walk in the woods!”
“Pretty cool place, though it was kind of muddy and cold when we visited.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
