Confirmed from Stratford Woods Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a beach & trails by a manmade lake, offering volleyball courts, BMX track & play area.
What runners say about Stratford Woods Park
“The beach is nice and clean for the most part there is a section with seaweed we just knew to go around it.”
“Very cute for kids a lot of cool things to play on and beautiful trails to walk”
This park is my happy place in Midland, MI. It's dog-friendly, so I can walk my pooch off-leash if he's well-behaved. They even added a new natural area trail recently, which is the icing on the cake. Have fun!
Decent spot to take a family. Needs more picnic tables and since it's small, it get easily crowded. The trails in the woods are a nice option for dogs! They have recently added new trails throughout the woods that links the beach all the way to Waldo Rd.
Great place to spend time with family or friends, good for kayaking, fishing, and walking. Safe enough for the little ones to swim on the beach. Definitely is one of our weekend favorite place to go to.
I love this place! I've come here since I was a kid, there are trails, a beach, Pavilions for picnics with power, actual bathrooms, and you can even fish for small fish here.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
