Confirmed from Stringers Ridge Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring various trails for hiking and mountain biking.
What runners say about Stringers Ridge Park
“The mountain bike trails are a well maintained, flowy, challenging ride that covers about 6 miles in a big loop.”
“Beautiful, rolling trail for a hike; not much of a "park" at the High Ridge Dr trailhead, not really any parking at this location.”
“The trail is clearly marked and is accessible for walking.”
This was my first time to walk this park. The walk was very pleasant and the trails well kept up. Mountain bikers were flying through at times which was a bit surprising but it also seemed like a lot of fun. The overview was amazing and very well taken care of.
Well maintained trail head in the heart of a bustling city. The public restroom was clean. The cute little gnome villages are super cute and unexpected. The overlook of Chattanooga is a great place to sit and watch the city. Follow along on my adventures on instagram @gottalovett_photography
Beautiful place to walk, walk your dog, ride bikes, anything active and outside. Your kids would enjoy it too it’s a small uphill walk but once you get passed the first hill it levels out throughout, it’s a short walk really considering it’s all through the woods but it’s just big circles.
Not many people know that there are hiking and biking trails right next to downtown Chatt. It’s about a mile from Coolidge park, and offers a pretty great overlook of the city. The trails are well maintained and regularly used.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
