Confirmed from Sunny Ridge Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking and walking trails, as well as flora and fauna, in a wooded preserve.
What runners say about Sunny Ridge Preserve
“It is a relatively easy trail with magnificent wildflora and wildlife.”
Easy to get to with parking/entrance right off of 134. We did the full hike/loop, piecing together smaller trails. Note: trails are poorly marked, but it makes this a fun hike. Very muddy, lots of large puddles of water. Some interesting findings like a bone in a tree and a picture someone left behind.
It is a relatively easy trail with magnificent wildflora and wildlife. Please do not pick or touch the wildflowers it is illegal to do so for valid critical reasons. Most of our native wildflora and wildlife are in the Endangered Lists due to negative human footprint and invasive species.
Great trails to hike with a dog. Nothing strenuous. A good array of plants and flowers most of the time. A forest in the burbs! Also nice in winter.
Took just a quick walk down to the lake as darkness fell, but this is a little gem. Way off the beaten track - not even doggers and joggers when I was there. Deeply forested with some lakes and wetlands. Well worth the mosey.

“The parking situation could be improved, but it's a lovely place.”

The practical stuff

- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
