Confirmed from Syd Kronenthal Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a recreation building & 2 picnic areas plus softball, basketball, soccer & tennis courts.
What runners say about Syd Kronenthal Park
“Clean restrooms, plenty of 4hr parking and often busy so it feels safe.”
Cute little spot i found while riding the bike path near the blue line. This was at really late at night (like 2am) so it was perfectly quiet. Not sure if park closes but I took my chances and it was worth it. 😇 Definitely need to come back during the day to check out the dog park with my dog.
It's a fine park and most often occupied by softball teams and parents showing children how to ride bikes, play baseball, futball, etc. And it is next to a entrance to the vaunted, L.A. or Bologna Creek rivers' bicycle path. So, yeah, it's a really good park in metro L.A.
Syd Kronenthal Park is a decent neighborhood recreation park. There is a big baseball field, a couple of tennis courts and basket courts, a playground next to the community center. Restrooms are located on the side of the community center facing the big field.
My go to path to walk on the weekends when Kenneth Hahn park charges. Nice walking trail, picnic tables, tennis court, basketball court and two baseball fields.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
