Confirmed from Sylvan Glen Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Small, peaceful park with a lake offering fishing and picnic areas.

What runners say about Sylvan Glen Lake Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (424 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Clean restrooms, new playground for kids, planty of parking spaces, free entrance.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 8 mentions

“Nice calm lake good for picnics hanging out, fishing for sport unless you going for panfish.”

Great place for walking and relaxing by the lake. As of 2021, there is a very nice paved path that starts at the parking lot, loops around the lake, through the trees and connects with the subdivision on the other side. Definitely worth checking out!

Nice calm lake good for picnics hanging out, fishing for sport unless you going for panfish. Plenty of cobra chicken to hiss at you if you get too close small nature walk only downsides can't swim and no bathrooms

★★★★★ — James , Aug 2021

Visiting the park was a real breath of fresh air! It cannot be overemphasized how important nature is in our hectic city life. This park is an island of tranquility, where you can take a break from the noise and garbage. The first thing that catches your eye is the grooming of the territory.

★★★★★ — Micah , Mar 2025

Great Park to visit with family to enjoy the lake and the surrounding greenery. Kids had fun here and we stopped to have ice cream under the shade of one of the trees.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Sylvan Glen Lake Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
